Wild yam is a plant that contains a chemical called diosgenin. The root and the bulb of the plant are used as a source of diosgenin, which is prepared as an extract. Diosgenin or wild yam is often promoted as a natural alterative to estrogen therapy, so you will see it used for estrogen replacement therapy, vaginal dryness in older women, premenstrual syndrome, menstrual cramps, weak bones, increasing energy and sexual drive in men and women.
SUPPLEMENT FACTS (Amount Per Serving)50mg Wild Yam extract (10:1 concentrated extract equivalent to 500mg raw herb), with 16% diosgenin.
OTHER INGREDIENTS: Magnesium stearate (anti-caking agent), Microcrystalline cellulose (binding agent).
DIRECTIONS: Take one tablet daily, preferably with meals.
